Exhibition in Holmes Chapel Library
I’m busy preparing to hang an exhibition of ten photographic prints in Holmes Chapel Library next week for the Holmes Chapel Camera Club. I’ve collected the top four colour prints, the top four monochrome prints, and the top two nature prints from our most recent competition, and will be hanging them in the library’s community room for the week 31st October to 7th November. Haltemprice Art Exhibition
Yesterday I took my two entries along to Cottingham, East Yorkshire, for the Annual Haltemprice Art Exhibition to be held there from Friday 21st October until Saturday 29th October inclusive. I have not yet managed to attend to preview evening as I have always had other commitments and this year is no exception! However, I like to visit the exhibition at least once during the weekly run, as there is always a wide variety of work on show.
I have entered the following two pieces this year:
Selling at Make, Do and Mend and on Etsy
During the run up to Christmas, you will be able to purchase some of my smaller paintings and craft items from Make, Do and Mend at 94 Byron Road, Chelmsford, Essex CM2 6HJ. Make, Do & Mend stock beautiful handmade gifts, jewellery and treasures made by local people. Pop by to see it all, you’ll never need to go else where for a present again! They also run and amazing selection of art and craft workshops, further info here: http://www.makedomend.com/
I’ve also updated my Etsy shop with a range of small ethereal landscape works on paper. The perfect affordable original Christmas gift! Free worldwide shipping. Please do pop by: http://www.andreafarmerart.etsy.com
Cookham Regatta – Amanda Hunt Art Exhibition

It was a very successful day for me at the Cookham Regatta on Saturday 3rd September with sales of 4 large paintings (including one that the varnish had only finished drying on the day before!) , 2 of my painted blocks and many handmade cards. The Regatta was a great family day out with fun and serious boat races in dragon boats and catamaran canoes powered by teams of 14 people. There were also lots of children’s activities with a climbing wall, trampolines and fairground rides. The event was organised by the Rotary groups of Thames Marlow and Cookham Bridge and raised money for People2Places. There was also a Silent Auction to which I donated a painting with all proceeds going to the charity.
Turnout was fantastic with families enjoying picnics in the sunshine beside the river and lots of people stopping by for a chat and to ask me about my artwork. It was the first time I have had a stall at this regatta and will definitely be going back next year.
Exhibitions, fairs and opportunities.
The coming months will see me entering local exhibitions such as the annual Haltemprice Art & Craft Exhibition, which takes place from Friday 21st to Saturday 29th October at the Civic Hall, Cottingham, Hull. I have just this morning received the entry form for this exhibition, which I have entered for several years now and it is getting more and more popular – so much so that they have introduced size restrictions now to the paintings. As only two entries per artist are allowed, I may even create a couple of new paintings just for the occasion.
At the beginning of November, I will be taking part in a Christmas Craft Fair in Bilton, Hull, which is being organised in aid of the “Forget me not” trust, which is a West Yorkshire based charity that raises funds for children with life-limiting conditions. I will be concentrating on making lots of cards, mini paintings, trinket boxes etc as I think a lot of people will be looking for smaller items to buy as Christmas presents.
